[UPDATED LINK] Fighting gender ideology - a new resource
Because people with disabilities have rights too
Change of website URL so republishing…
And thanks to the Speech Therapist who contacted the FSU with this stonker!
Some time ago, I had sight of a paper that two speech therapists were trying to publish.
In the end, they’ve self published.
You can find it here:
They say they wrote the paper to:
i) request that colleagues always consider the rights, abilities and disabilities of our clients when there is an expectation for preferred pronouns to be used in any context
ii) provide evidence-based information for why this matters and so that others may use it when writing policies, making complaints, providing advice developing EHCPs and PLPs (old IEPs), ensuring MCAs are correctly carried out and so on
You can contact them on info@ourrighttospeak.com
You can cite the paper as:
SLP, SLT (anon). 2023. Use of preferred pronouns are ableist against the rights and interests of children and adults with communication, cognitive, sensory, or mental health disabilities and challenges. [Online] Accessed: dd/mm/yy Available from: https://www.ourrighttospeak.com/
It’s an excellent resource, please share widely.
Thank you! Good FSU expose too!
